Long on Extraordinary Health

I love this tweet because it encapsulates feeling good, being healthy, and carving your own path in business.
And I particularly love the cannabis shout-out.
I'm excited about the adoption of high-quality cannabidiol (CBD), a chemical compound found in both marijuana and hemp that has the potential to significantly improve how we relax and socialize.
Despite hemp being legalized federally, you don't typically see CBD in restaurants or bars because the FDA has some issues with it. Nonetheless, Cultured South on Atlanta’s West End has killer CBD-infused kombuchas that my girlfriend and I love for their relaxing effect (sans hangover).
And CBD has been on my mind because I'm staying away from alcohol in 2022.
But why do this to yourself Josp? Well, it's been time to change it up:
My stomach does a poor job of handling the sauce (even 2-3 drinks per month), resulting in gut issues that've persisted for y-e-a-r-s.
I'm tired of even the slightest hangover tricking me into avoiding what I enjoy doing most: being outside, putting my brain to work, exercising, etc.
And while taking this break has helped me realize what other changes need to be made to fortify my gut, it's also given me the breathing room to listen closely to my overall health.
For instance, I typically ignore my right hip, which has been achy since high school (sheeeeesh).
Somehow, even though I've been aware that these issues affect my mood, I frequently ignore them because other goals (e.g. career) seem more pressing.
Not good enough.
Health is the unlock to everything in your life. To be able to do what you want at your full potential. To live with a clear mind. To support others. To be happy.
It can be easy to brush health aside, let things fester, and most troubling: allow a problem that you tell yourself isn't that bad to become the norm without fully realizing it.
Like anything else, health can be dramatically improved if you dedicate small amounts of time daily before things get out of hand.
You owe it to yourself to be at your peak physically and mentally.
I write this even though I don't always live by it.
But I'll get better at it. With a plan. Day by day.
Long on cannabis and super healthy beverages.
But more importantly, long on extraordinary health.
